Welcome Message:

Welcome to the Sudanese-Canadian Association of Ottawa (SCAO) "A New Dawn in Canada’s Capital For The Sudanese Community, a community that is Focused, Inclusive, Carring and with a Wider Vision "

The Sudanese-Canadian Association of Ottawa came into existence on July 27, 2002. A set of principals were adopted, By-laws were endorsed and a Board of Directors was elected by a group of Sudanese women, men and youth. That was the culmination of 8 months of work and dedication undertaken by the Preparatory Committee which consists of 12 volunteers. Many thanks go to the seven members of the first Board of Directors, whose term just ended, for shouldering the start up and brought many Sudanese together under one roof. Youth & Studens Corner

One of our community youth that we are all proud of: Yassir Mohamed Khalifa is coming back home at the end of this month (December) after serving his country Canada one year in Afganistan with Canadian Army. Welcome back Yssir home.

Others 2 youth members, who are working hard as students in Ottawa's universities and serving with the reserve army as a parttimer job that pays for their education and life expenses are:

of you from Istaza/ Afaf Elshiply in which she
indicated that last gathering we managed to
raised $ 389. Fund raising will be continuing this
gathering as well for those who wish to
contribute.

Women Club Upcoming:

This group has been delegated by SCAO BOD to discuss various issues that concern Sudanese-Canadian women in Ottawa and their participation in SCAO activities for our community well-being. ....Read More

 

Youth Soccer Team:

Ottawa Youth Soccer Team start back in 1997, where a group of concerened Sudanese start supporting our youth and call them out for trainings. Then we discovered that we have many talented player among our youth, and we end-up organizing the Ottawa Youth Soccer Team, that managed in a short time to take the front lines among Sudanese-canadian teams in canada, especially last summer in Ontario tournement. Architect Abdullah Zien-elabdien visited Sudan back in April 2006, when his engineering eyes attracted to many new building designs that covered most of Khartoum streets, he decided to turn-on his digital camera and put together this slide show that reflect different venues of new Khartoum from architectural aspects.
